Flying Private With Your Dog Over the Holidays
Oct 25, 2024
As many as one in four Members across VistaJet and XO now fly with their dogs, cats, or other pets. Safety and care for animals onboard is a top priority for our service teams, especially during the busy holiday travel season.
When planning a charter flight through XO with your pet, please alert XO Client Services so that we can provide the best possible experience for you both. A specialist will gather information about your pet, including their breed, weight, name, specific needs, and catering options, if you choose.
Pets are welcomed on flights booked through XO and amenities can be offered to help them feel calm and comfortable throughout your flight. On Vista Members’ fleet aircraft, cabin hosts are trained in pet first aid, including pet CPR.
These tips may also help you plan private jet travel with your pet:
You’ll need to obtain a certification of veterinary inspection from your veterinary provider with a list of any required medications. The certification must be federally accredited, obtained within 10 days of travel, and include a photo of your pet.
Your pet will need an updated microchip with your most current address and contact information.
When flying internationally, a pet passport is usually required. This certifies that your pet is healthy and fully vaccinated. Your accredited veterinarian can assist you in obtaining a passport.
Consider bringing familiar food or snacks for your pet, a comforting blanket and toy.
Exercise your pet before boarding.
For longer flights, consider bringing a travel pad that allows your pet to relieve themselves during the flight.
Beyond the jet, XO Client Services can also recommend pet-friendly hotels and resorts and arrange for pet-friendly ground transportation. For more information, please email the XO Client Services team, available day or night to assist you.
