Airport history
BLQ originated in 1933, with the original terminal situated 500 meters west of the current building. The airport had two stints of transatlantic service, the first via Eurofly to New York City from June 2005 to 2008 and the second via American Airlines to Philadelphia began in June 2019 but was discontinued in August.
