Brač Airport

Brač Airport, also known as BWK to the IATA and LDSB to the ICAO, is an airport on the island of Brač in Croatia. It is mainly used for charter flights during the European summer season. In 2022 15,948 passengers were served. There is one runway: 04/22, 5,774 feet (asphalt).

Airport history

BWK originated on May 22nd, 1993. As such, it is Croatia’s youngest airport. In 2007, the current terminal building was completed. In addition, the runway was lengthened to its current length between November 2016 and March 2017. Currently, the runway can service the Airbus A319, the Embraer 195, and the Bombardier C-Series.

The airport is located 8.7 miles from Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) and 18.6 miles from Supetar.

  • Plans are in place to lengthen the runway to 7,709 feet, allowing the airport to serve the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737-800.
  • The airport has a high elevation and is close to the island's highest peak, creating issues with fog, low stratus, and poor visibility. 
  • BWK is one of three island airports in Croatia, along with Krk – Rijeka Airport and Lošinj – Lošinj Airport. 
  • The FBO at BWK is Universal Aviation.
